Massage therapy is widely accepted by doctors and insurance companies as medical care.
Most workplace benefit plans, automobile insurance, workers compensation (WSIB) and medical insurance will reimburse all or some of the costs for registered massage therapy treatments.
Massage therapy is not covered by OHIP.
Here are the steps to find out if you have insurance coverage for massage therapy:
1. Contact your insurance company or human resource department at work to verify your     coverage and the billing procedure. 2. If your insurance company allows direct billing we can invoice your insurance company     directly. (Green Shield is already pre-approved for direct billing) 3. You may have to pay an insurance deductible or co-pay. 4. You may need a doctor's prescription.
Work Benefit Plan
Most workplace benefit plans will cover massage therapy costs. Generally up to $500.00 per year is available for massage therapy.
